Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was appointed as the Leader of the House while Minister Johnston Fernando was appointed as the Chief Government Whip today.
Sources close to Minister Fernando told the Daily Mirror that the two ministers got their appointment letters from Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this evening.
It was reported earlier that MP Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene is tipped to be the new Speaker while Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya will be appointed as the Deputy Speaker.
