Beliatta Pradeshiya Sabha Opposition Leader (UNP) Kapila Amarakoon, who had been hospitalised with gunshot injuries, died this morning, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said.
He said the PS member was admitted to the Tangalle Hospital with gunshot injuries on Wednesday (20) morning.
The victim had been injured in an incident at his house at Pallattara, Modarawala in Beliatta at around 7.00 am on Wednesday.
A relative had found the seriously injured PS member lying in the bed and rushed him to the Tangalle Hospital.
