Only 14 trains were on track at the Colombo Fort Railway station this morning, following the ongoing train strike by the Locomotive Engineering Operators' Union (LEOU)and the Railway Guards' Union from last night, the Railways Control Room said.
They said no plans to operate trains in the evening. He also said since no arrangements have been made so far to operate the train service, a certain delay cannot be ruled out.
The railway trade union action was launched last night over several demands including the decision of the government to recover the losses from the railway employees for the operational errors that occur during the operation of trains.
