Police and the Wild Life officers commenced investigations after two wild elephants were found dead on top of each other at Batumulla in Hasalaka last morning. The Police said that they suspected the elephants had died due to electrocution after treading on a ‘live’ electric cord laid around a farming land in the area. Furthermore, they said the cause of the death could only be determined following a post-mortem examination.
