United National Party UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara yesterday questioned as to why public funds were wasted on the Presidential Commission which probed the Easter Sunday attacks if no one including the Government, is willing to take responsibility for it.

“This Govenment continued with the development work carried out by the previous government and if they can claim credit for the projects which were started by the Yahapalana government why can’t this Government take responsibility for the report of the Presidential Commission which probed the Easter Sunday attack? “ he questioned.

“It would have been better if only police investigations were carried out on the Easter Sunday attacks as our police is more capable of carrying out an effective job. They have proved it by finding the killer of a woman whose body was found on Tuesday,” he also said.
