Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who visited MP Harin Fernando in hospital said fresh issues have arisen regarding the charges against the latter. “An attempt was made to arrest MP Fernando over the Easter Sunday attacks, but now a fresh charge is being made regarding a project which was under his digital technology ministry in the previous government. This is an issue as they are trying to come up with a new charge when they cannot charge him against the previous charge,” Mr. Wickremesinghe told journalists. “There were investigations carried out on the Easter Sunday attacks and a Presidential Commission was appointed to look into it. However, this government has also carried out investigations. The outcome of these investigations should be revealed to the nation,” he added.
