Mrs. Sri Lanka, Pushpika De Silva, who recently gained wide publicity following her ‘ad hoc’ uncrowning by reigning Mrs. World Caroline Jurie last Sunday evening at the Mrs. World pageant has said she has submitted all the proof of her marriage to Mrs. World International and claimed that it was sheer jealousy that led Jurie and former model Chula Padmendra to behave in the manner they did.

In an interview with the ‘Ada’ newspaper, Pushpika said that allegations over her divorce had been false as the matter had now been resolved and insisted that she had studied all the rules and regulations of the pageant before contesting. “My husband has also made a statement to the effect that I am not divorced and there is nothing more than that. I have submitted all the necessary documents to the World Pageant. In a situation where the World Pageant has nothing to worry about, why are the others eager to act in this manner,” Pushpika said. She further said she was unsure who manipulated Jurie and Chula and said they had invited their own downfall with this behaviour. She however said she had forgiven them both for their actions and ‘begged’ them not to repeat it again.
