Officers attached to the Police Unit of Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing Easter Sunday attacks yesterday visited former President Maithripala Sirisena’s official residence to record a statement.
On August 17, Sirisena was summoned to appear before the Police unit. However, he said he was unable to visit the Police unit and requested the officers to visit his residence to record the statement. Accordingly, the officers of the Police unit visited Sirisena’s residence at around 9.00 am yesterday and recorded statement for more more than eight hours.
