The Departments of the Registration of Persons , Immigration and Emigration and the RMV request people not to visit the Head office and the Regional Offices during the next three days from today as they will be closed on October 7, 8 and 9 to help control the spread of COVID-19.
DRP Commissioner-General Viyani Gunathilaka said all services relating to the issuing National Identity Cards under the one-day service scheme have been suspended for three days from today.

Mr. Gunathilaka asked people to hand over their applications to the relevant Grama Niladharis. “However, priority will be given to those who want their IDs urgently,” he said. “To avail this consession, the applicant should mention the reason when handing over their applications to the respective District Secretariat offices.” Meanwhile, the Controller of Immigration and Emigration has requested the people to obtain the services from the Department by contacting the relevant divisions on telephone numbers and e-mails during Office hours from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm.
