Justifying his act of publicly eating a raw fish, SJB MP Dilip Wedaarachchi yesterday told Parliament that he was happy about his act.
“I am happy as I was able to achieve two things by eating a raw fish. First I was able to encourage the public to consume fish without fear. Secondly I was able to enhance the trading of fish and the revival of the industry,” the MP said.
“I have been appreciated globally for my act,” he added. Wedaarachchi recently ate a raw fish during a media conference to prove that people could eat fish without fear despite the spreading of COVID-19 through the Peliyagoda Fish Market.
