We wish to clarify that the feature story published on Page 9 of yesterday’s Daily Mirror headlined ‘Delving into the Sterilisation story’ is a translation of the a feature story published in our sister newspaper -- the Lankadeepa on June 5, 2019. We wish to reiterate and clarify that Prof. Senanayake did not provide any further comments or an interview to the media regarding the issue following the said publication.
Accordingly, the interview published in yesterday’s Daily Mirror was a direct translation of the interview originally conducted on June 3 and published in the Lankadeepa on June 5. Prof. Senanayake, is an authority on the subject and did not provide any further comments and/or interviews to the Dailymirror following the publication of his comments on June 5, 2019.
We regret any inconvenience caused to Prof. Senanayake.
