The body of a Buddhist monk, a native of Holland (56), who had been engaged in meditation at the Polgasduwa hermitage in Rathgama, had been recovered from the lagoon, Police said.
The body was sent to the Karapitiya Hospital for an autopsy, the Police said.
Several foreign monks meditate at the hermitage.
The Rathgama Police are conducting further investigations.
