An environmental fair jointly organised by the Sri Jayawardenapura Municipal Council Health Division and the Waste Management Authority with the objective of eradicating the dengue epidemic was held at Nugegoda Kattiya Junction on Sunday. Recyclable waste such as plastics, bottles, coconut shells and cardboard were purchased at the fair.
One of the main objectives of the project was to make recyclable waste more efficient instead of throwing them away at garbage dumps. Text and pix by Rekha Tharangani Fonseka
