Sunshine Healthcare sponsors ‘Careerlead’ 2015 to promote entrepreneurship

Sunshine Healthcare Lanka (SHL), a member of the diversified conglomerate Sunshine Holdings PLC, supported ‘Careerlead 2015,’ a national-level initiative to provide greater opportunities to students and entrepreneurs from outside the Western Province by bringing students from tertiary education institutions across the country, entrepreneurs and employers to one platform.

Sunshine Healthcare Lanka was a Silver Sponsor of the Careerlead Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair organized by the Young Members’ Forum (YMF) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Rajarata University and held at the Rajarata University premises recently with the participation of thousands of students and a significant number of companies/employers.

In addition to supporting the event through a sponsorship, Sunshine Healthcare participated with a stall to interact with students on prospective employment opportunities within the company, while a number of senior Sunshine Healthcare and Sunshine Holdings
PLC officials were present at the event. Participants included students of the Rajarata, South Eastern,
Jaffna and Wayamba Universities.

“Sunshine Healthcare is pleased to extend its cooperation and support to a timely initiative which addresses a critical need – to extend employment and economic opportunities especially to youth outside the Western Province,” Sunshine Healthcare Managing Director, Shyam Sathasivam said. “Participation at such events also facilitates access to educated and talented prospective young employees with potential to add value to the growing Sunshine Healthcare team.” Other companies of Sunshine Holdings PLC too have supported initiatives aimed at interacting with and empowering youth. Watawala Tea Ceylon, a group company, engaged a batch of students of the Academy of Design (AOD) to develop new packaging for its ‘Zesta’ tea brand.
