Leo Burnett’s young professionals attend AFAA’s Fast Track Programme

Two young professionals from Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. (LBSI) recently participated in the AFAA Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Chamin Marasinghe, Manager – Digital, and Anfaz Amanulla, Brand Group Head, were selected to attend the three-day residential training programme which was conducted by the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations and moderated by 95% - The Advertising Academy.
The AFAA Fast Track Programme is designed to coach young leaders to help them take up their management roles in the advertising industry with greater ease. The programme also provides participants with an opportunity to rediscover their own talents, strengths, purpose and passion, and to develop leadership and resilience skills to take on the many challenges in this fast-changing industry. Last year, four young professionals from Leo Burnett were the first Sri Lankan advertising professionals to attend Fast Track and this year, the agency’s young professionals joined 26 other participants from five countries.
Commenting on Leo Burnett’s commitment to developing talent within the agency, Ranil de Silva, Managing Director, Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. stated, “I strongly believe that the Fast Track Programme helps us to prepare our young professionals for the various leadership roles we would like them to fulfil. It is a programme which gives young executives the confidence they need to excel as leaders.” Also commenting on the programme, Kumudini Gomes, Director, People and Culture, Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. added, “Our two young professionals have returned with a new energy as well as a positive and determined frame of mind. The AFAA Fast Track Programme enables them to dissolve any preconceived notions they may have had about their capabilities. I believe they are now better prepared to handle the multiple challenges they will face in their respective leadership roles.”
The programme also helps young professionals to explore new ways of thinking, push mind-set limitations and develop people skills that will help them build lasting relationships. Fast Track also focuses on helping young professionals to improve their leadership skills by exercising greater control and influence, whilst reigniting their creativity and passion. Commenting on this learning experience the participants from Leo Burnett stated, “Fast Track provided us with a phenomenal learning experience that truly helped us to broaden our horizons. We learnt so much about ourselves and identified the barriers we have brought upon ourselves. The programme has taught us how to address these barriers, in order to truly excel as leaders in the advertising industry. The AFAA Fast Track Programme, has helped us to learn a lot about ourselves and it has also rekindled our passion and confidence.”
