Krishan appointed as Director to JKH leisure firms

The country’s largest conglomerate, John Keells Holdings PLC has appointed Krishan Balendra as a Non- Executive Director of its leisure subsidiaries. Balendra will enter the boards of Trans Asia Hotels PLC, Asian Hotels & Properties PLC and John Keells Hotels PLC. He is currently Chairman of JKH’s banking arm Nation’s Trust Bank PLC and is on the board of John Keells Stockbrokers. He is a former Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange.

Balendra has an LLB from the University of London and an MBA from INSTEAD. He started his career by spending four years at UBS Warburg, Hong Kong specializing in investment banking and capital equity markets before joining Aiken Spence PLC’s corporate finance team.He is the son of corporate personality and former John Keells Chairman Ken Balendra.
