FinMin leaves for USA to attend IMF, WB meetings

Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake will leave today (April 13th) to United States to participate in the spring meetings of International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
This Summit, which will be held in  Washington from 13th to 17th with the participation of Finance Ministers and  Governors of the  Central Banks representing 187  member countries  of  the International Monitory Fund and the World Bank.


Department of External Resources states that this summit is of much importance to Sri Lanka as it is envisaged to discuss World Bank and IMF assistance towards future development plans of Sri Lanka.
During this summit, Finance Minister will have several rounds of discussions with the Finance Ministers of world’s main economies.
Minister, Ravi Karunanayake will also attend the  G24 Finance Ministers meeting.
