The official launch of ‘Ayurveda Expo 2016’ international indigenous healthcare exhibition organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will be held tomorrow, at 3:30 p.m at Hilton Residences, Union Place, Colombo 2.
The chief guest for the launch will be Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Deputy Minister Faizal Cassim. Additionally, heads of government institutions, organisations from the indigenous Ayurveda sector and distinguished guests will grace the occasion.
The mega exhibition, conducted by the National Chamber for the sixth time, is scheduled to be held on July 8, 9 and 10, 2016 at the BMICH Colombo, in association with the Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Ministry and other government institutions.
The objective of the exhibition is to promote the Sri Lankan Ayurveda system and healthcare practices locally and overseas and also to provide an opportunity for all relevant sectors, to promote their products and services, both locally and internationally.
The National Chamber expects to secure participation from local and foreign organisations, as well from the region, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Myanmar, etc. A Medical Symposium will also be conducted parallel to the exhibition where professionals, academics and researchers will present papers on traditional medicine.
Ayurveda Expo 2016 will focus on manufacturers of Ayurveda/herbal, nature-friendly health foods and beverages, health resorts/spas, Ayurveda hospitals/clinics, educational institutions, Yoga, acupuncture, etc.
