The Galpaditenne Tea Factory situated in Lellopitiya, Ratnapura, established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction of October 12, 2016 by securing an attractive price of Rs.480 per kilogramme for an OF grade in the low grown CTC category.
This line was purchased by M/s K D U Exports.
Suduwelipothahena CTC teas are keenly sought after by a range of reputed tea exporters for its consistent leaf appearance and liquoring characteristics.
The proprietor of Galpaditenne Tea Factory is Saman Upasena and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
Meanwhile, the Halpewatte Tea Factory, managed by Uva Halpewatte Estate (Pvt.) Limited situated in Hela Halpe, Bandarawela, established an all-time record price of Rs.740 per kilogramme at the weekly tea auction concluded on October 13, 2016 for a Uva medium BOP SP grade.
This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas (Pvt.) Limited.
The sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
