Solicitor General Yuwanjana Wanasundera Wijayathilake was sworn in as the 28th Attorney General of Sri Lanka this afternoon before President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

 


He became an attorney in 1979 and joined the legal department as an attorney-at-law in 1980, and up to date he has completed 34 years of service.

 

He is the son of former Supreme Court judge S.R. Wijayathilake and a past pupil of Ananda College, Colombo.

    Hope he will keep up the reputation of his illustrious father and not descend to the level of an AG now subervient to the politicos though having a higher status.

    To the comment of BalaIf you know the Wijetilleke family you would not have posted your comment.The Wijetilleke family from Matale have been in the Lawyers, Barristers and Judges and have a long lineage of Reputable service in the Law Courts.They would rather be jobless than bowing down to political pressure or money
