Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe told Parliament today that his party is willing to participate in the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to fund a political solution to the national issue if the LLRC report is discussed in the said select committee.
Responding to an allegation made by the Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardene that Mr. Wickremesinghe is a proxy of the international community, the opposition leader said his party does not accept the allegations of war crimes that have been made against Sri Lanka.
In response to a comment made by Mr. Gunawardene that the government is ready to discuss anything in the select committee, Mr. Wickremesinghe urged the government to make the necessary amendments to the committee in order to make provisions for it to discuss the LLRC. (Yohan Perera)
