Wife accuses Sakvithi of raping her

Financial scammer Sakvithi Ranasinghe was indicted before the Colombo High Court by the Attorney General on charges of committing rape on a minor girl at Mount Lavina during the period March 30, 1998 to February 28, 1999.Sakvithi Ranasinghe was accused of abducting the minor girl Kumari Anuradhini, who was below the age of 18 years at the time, from her legal custodian J. Ariyaratnage on March 30, 1990 and sexually abusing and raping her at Mount Lavinia.
The victim is now married to Sakvithi Ranasinghe. The Attorney General had indicted him after the victim’s statement was recorded in 2010. (T.Farook Thajudeen)

When our politicians get arrested for any crime, they immidiatly become sick. This is too the same tactick to escape from the legal net. If sakvithi shared a big portion with the rulers, then he too can get released on bail and escape.

Mrs. Shakvithi could have done thousand times more than what he did and escaped from all the charges. He could havecnegotiated with her just 1% by which he could have earn 10 times more than what got from scam. Poorman was too late to understand her..

it seem like they are trying to pack additional charges so they get a longer conviction for this fellow.....may be he had been living with the woman before she was 18 year and that constitute for rape as she was a minor. I am sure a lawyer would be able to explain this better !!!
