Water to be fully restored soon

The water cut which was in effect in Pannipitiya and nearby areas yesterday has ended as at 7 am today, but there are still delays in some areas due to water tanks and pumps being filled along the way, the water board announced.

The board said that all areas that were affected should at least receive water between 11am to 12pm.

Further it was noted that a delivery of a water bowser could be arranged in special circumstances if the relevant water board in the area was notified.

The board announced a 20-hour water cut from 9pm on Friday till 5pm Saturday, but the deadline was later extended till 10 pm on the same day due to unavoidable circumstances.

The water cut was due to a breakdown of the water pipeline from Kalatuwawa to Dehiwala in Maharagama.

The following areas were affected by the water cut- Pannipitiya, Rukmalgama, Maththegoda, Pelenwatta, Kesbewa and all by roads from Piliyandala to Boralesgamuwa. (Daily Mirror online)

Very unsatisfactory how they did this, understand water was not available to the residents from 5AM Saturday until today monday morning....
