UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake today said the government was making arrangements to sell water from the Uma Oya Project to foreign countries via the Mattala Airport and the Hambantota Port.

He charged that in this situation the President had made an election promise to the People in Moneragala that he would provide them with clean water by desalination.

“The President made a similar promise once in Kandy that the country had found crude oil. Four years had lapsed since then, but still no oil,” he said. (Sanath Desmond)
