The Department of Elections announced that the UPFA, which won the 2010 General Elections, will have 144 seats in the new Parliament while the UNP will have 60 seats, ITAK 14 and the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) 07 seats.
The UPFA had secured 127 seats following the conclusion of the polls yesterday and as a result was allocated an additional 17 seats under the National list in Parliament as well while the UNP has got 9 National list seats, DNA 2 and ITAK 1 National list seat.
