At least seven students were injured in a clash that erupted between two groups at the Sri Jayewardenepura University this evening, the Police said.

They said the clash had occurred between third year and second year students on the issue of ragging.

In a complaint to the police, the injured students had claimed that they were attacked with clubs and iron bars.

Police said two suspects were arrested by the Mirihana Police on assault charges.

Ban raging (hazing) altogether. Expel any student who is found of engaging in raging (hazing) totally.These kind of low grade activities are carried out by those with low self esteem psychos who need to compensate due to a short fall in their psychology or physiology

These thugs should be removed from the universities for thier nasty ,sexual, uncivilized ragging without attending the lectures and studies to pass out as soon as possible. Quoting Oxford here is not appropriate .

Clash in a university is a normal phenomenon, Oxford also a no exemption. But they have strict rules in place.
