Stone-throwing suspects remanded

Four youth who attempted to obstruct the Southern Expressway by hurling stones were remanded till February 21, by the Elpitiya Magistrate Sekara Samaradiwakara.

The suspects, Walawedurage Chandratillake, Ratnayake Arachichilage Tilakaratne, Ratnayaka Arachchilage Premasiri, and M.Piyaratne are residents of the Elpitiya area.

They had attempted to obstruct the expressway near Samayangalakanda at Elikehena close to the Kurundugahahethepma intersection. A police team under Elpitiiya Special Unit OIC Srikantha Seneviratne arrested the suspects and produced them in court. (Kirtiwansa Tilakaratne)
