As long as engineers are at work without striking there won't be any power failures from established hydro and gas units. The strike is lead by JVPers while their minor staff getting salaries close to government doctors. I am happy to see government uses all means of breaking this strike.

POWER CUT part of the CHINTHANA policy
Jagath Leanage Monday, 13 August 2012 04:06 PM
Name of the power plant is "LAKVIJAYA"? Please change appropriately,
BANDA Monday, 13 August 2012 03:40 PM
Ya, we cut our usage and allow cricket matches to play in the night
Aparna Thenuwara Monday, 13 August 2012 02:27 PM
Why the Power cut only because of brkedown Norochcholai Power Plant, all these years we getting power from Hydro power. As per Minister Power supply in Sri Lanka supplied 85% from Deisel. What about Hydro plants. Eg: Lakshpana,Victoria all these power not supply to National Power Grid Network.
Calistus Jayatilleke Monday, 13 August 2012 12:58 PM
Its the Chinese themselves who said "good things no cheap and cheap things no good". So, what more proof is needed to say that we have all become "Konday Bandapu Cheennus"
farieze Monday, 13 August 2012 12:05 PM
dear minister, please request for cost cut of all food items as well. then no problem of power cut.
parak Monday, 13 August 2012 10:34 AM
The matter is'nt linked to the strike actions or the general inefficiencies. The Hydro gen is reaching zero. It seems that everyone wanted the CEB to burn more and more fuel. Today you can enjoy, but tomorrow we all have to pay.
perera Monday, 13 August 2012 09:37 AM
With out strikers can CEB Function. Remove all strikers. any need price slashes in unit charges for Household.
KingBarnet Monday, 13 August 2012 06:43 AM
No medals for Norochchole.
Daya Monday, 13 August 2012 09:05 AM
Dont ask the public to manage the inefficiencies within the org. With the cencus they should have a plan year-on-year growth of population to meet the increase energy demand and on unfavourable weather conditions.
ase Monday, 13 August 2012 09:09 AM
he, what do you talk, i live in a small village, powercut, what is it ??? we pay the bill but mostly we have no elec. i gave a call yesterday to elec. board in pallekelle wanted to know what is up, no one seems to be responsible for this disaster, every time more pay but where is a service ????? we are there just to pay the bills, you ezb workers first do work and then demand, you do not give any service to the folk but only demands, i an a socialist but not distroying the country like our socialises, so do work and demade other wise we will be on the street against you, so , this was the experience what i had with the pallepola stastion yesterday, again first work and then demand.
Kautilya Monday, 13 August 2012 08:17 AM
" Power cut won't be imposed after 6 pm" is not for the benefits of the public but because of SLPL. What a farce CECB
Abilashan Monday, 13 August 2012 08:04 AM
Sri Lanka is just a piece of a country unlike others, i really have no idea why this country has to face this sorts of problems....
Dinesh Monday, 13 August 2012 07:41 AM
Norochcholai Power Plant - Made in China - Always breakdown like rest of the goods
parak Monday, 13 August 2012 07:40 AM
Why we can't cut our electricity consumption by 50% (domestic) and allow the industries to run smoothly, while reducing the burden on CEB. Are we waiting for the government to impose more control measures ?
bonnie mallie Monday, 13 August 2012 07:44 AM
Time for professionals - Doctors, Lawayers, Accountants, Engineers to take over ruling this country - at least they will have common sense and won't be just talking big !! DO NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE A PROPER PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION !
banda Monday, 13 August 2012 07:11 AM
It looks like that without these strikers, CEB can function
Farzan - Kalutara Monday, 13 August 2012 07:10 AM
If there is no power cut on EID DAY, it would be more appropriate since it is a festival which is celebrated after one month long fasting.
Just Another Citizen Monday, 13 August 2012 07:07 AM
Goods made in China don't carry warranty?
Munshif Monday, 13 August 2012 06:57 AM
Looks like the CEB is playing a drama here! This is to hide the fact is our country is facing a power crisis!
