The Police today released a sketch of a suspect in the killing of a Policeman in Kurunegala on Tuesday, May 6.

Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the armed men had robbed the Wewaldeniya fuel station before abducting the two Police Constables in the van.

One Constable was shot dead while the other escaped.

The police also released a photograph of one of the suspect in the Wewaldeniya robbery and the CCTV footages, obtained from the fuel station.

“We believe that the same armed men carried out the murder after the robbery at the Wewaldeniya fuel station,” the SSP Rohana said.

As per a description given by the injured Policeman, a sketch of one of the abductors was released and Police had sought public support to find the suspect.

The suspect in the sketch is between ages 30-32 and around 5 feet 4 inches tall.

The spokesman said a reward of Rs. 1 million would be offered to information regarding these suspects and any information could be reported to the CID on 077-2659336.
