Well said Wickrama, can't we realise this fact and begin some change at least from now on, clean track record as basic qualification to enter politics instead of the thugs and like.

    Gunathilaka Saturday, 24 November 2012 04:31 AM

She is interligent, educated and broad minded. We need that caliber people in future.

    Muthu Friday, 23 November 2012 10:53 PM

The mindsets of the Sri Lankan voters is such that they will support any thug or crook with a yard long smile and a little back rubbing and baby sitting. These crooks will come to power and will start self serving instead of nation building. Voters who allow themselves to be cheated deserve what they get.

I do not think CJ is getting undue attention at all she is really getting due attention. She could one day challenge MR for presidency provided the government does not remove her civic rights.

I believe restired supreme court judges cannot hold any position except with the explicit written consent of president. On a realistic point of view, becoming popular is one thing doing doing politics is another, it a position you need experience or you mess up. Good examples are gl, cbk,

    rosh Friday, 23 November 2012 12:05 PM

Come on man she can't be that stupid !!!

    Chryshan K Friday, 23 November 2012 10:20 AM

She is getting undue attention and popularity due to this. I am sure with this she will be pushed into politics making use of her education, strong mind and even the surname. It seams all are gathering around her.

like they gathered around SF ?

    malkanthi Friday, 23 November 2012 11:45 AM

All thought same about SF, only a prisoner with the new system!

    Kool Friday, 23 November 2012 11:43 AM

Why is it that they never refer to her as Cheif Justice "Dr" Shirani Bandaranayake... very odd?

    John Friday, 23 November 2012 11:41 AM

What a 'soap box' display of arrogance on a matter of huge significance to SL, for the entire world to see?!

    Kool Friday, 23 November 2012 11:31 AM

What democratic approach everything is happening under closed doors.. no transparency.. plus they are giving the CJ very little time among hearings... just ruthless!

    ANTON Friday, 23 November 2012 10:59 AM

Whatever the situation, one day this lady will become one of the strongest politician in srilanks.

    wickrama Friday, 23 November 2012 10:46 AM

Shouldn't you be happy if such an educated honorable person comes to politics instead of the thieves, thugs, rapists and murderers?

    Pxx Friday, 23 November 2012 10:44 AM

    Good move,
Very soon, She will be our next President of Sri Lanka

    lk Friday, 23 November 2012 10:43 AM

I agree to what you said, as a general point. true.

    AW Friday, 23 November 2012 10:45 AM

she will also end up like SF , that is all going to happen.

Johann Gunasekara Friday, 23 November 2012 10:38 AM

The impeachment will fail as the govt will be under pressure and feel isolated and will be forced to take a more democratic approach to governing

    Mohamed Friday, 23 November 2012 10:33 AM

Dire circumstances faced moulds a person as a strong character.
