Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Rana is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka and the Maldives from January 29 to February 6, the Nepal Army said.

General Rana is leaving for the Maldives on Tuesday for his visit beginning on January 29-31 at the formal invitation of Chief of National Defence Army of the Maldives, Ahammad Siyam.

Likewise, General Rana is visiting Sri Lanka from February 1 to 6 at the formal invitation of Sri Lankan Army Chief RMD Ratnayeke.

During his visit, General Rana would attend the parade and Deyeta Kirula National Exhibition organized on 66th National Independence Day of Sri Lanka.

This is the first formal visit of Nepal´s army chief to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, General Rana is scheduled to meet chiefs of Land Force, Air Force and Defence Force, and Defence Secretary, added the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations.
