All foreign employment agencies from Dehiwela to Colpity will be checked for their legitimacy and whether they have the necessary permits to operate for the said year, the Fraud Investigations Bureau told Daily Mirror online
As a first step all foreign employment agencies from Dehiwela to Colpity will be checked and a database regarding them will be created. These steps are being taken to curb the many illegal employment agencies in Colombo and also to protect those who have a legitimate business, which could thereby help the public.
Many complaints are received regarding fraudulent institutions which defraud individuals over 10 lakhs promising jobs overseas and we intend to put a stop to this, Fraud Investigations Bureau officials said. (Daily Mirror online)
How many politicians defraud people promising overseas jobs?. Did the authorities conduct a proper inquiry despite having enough proof against the culprits. However, the checking of legitimacy would not applicable to the agencies run by the government politicians.

At last here is something of value. Excellent move provided they are checked by men of integrity or all it takes is a few thousand bucks to be left alone by the authorities.
