He's the best foreign minister SL have ever had.
Citizen Sunday, 11 November 2012 04:26 PM
He deserves it. Wonder if we have erected statues of three times prime minister Sirimavo Bandaranayake and first executive president J.R. Jayawardena in Colombo.
Wimal Modawansa Sunday, 11 November 2012 04:30 PM
Putting up his statue is fine but see that you protect it from crow droppings.
Kos Ata Cabraal Sunday, 11 November 2012 04:33 PM
Bogollogama is wondering when they are going to put up HIS statue.
Apsara Sunday, 11 November 2012 04:37 PM
Better to be at Kiribathgoda Junction. So that our dear Dr. can defend the statue.

As a Sinhalese I will say this. This is the only Tamil among Tamil leaders who I have seen since 1070, that I would get up in the morning, go to polls and vote as the president of Sri Lanka. I see a lot of the Diaspora call him a traitor. If you think about it, what did the LTTE do ? waged war and killed and destroyed thousands of Tamil lives for what ? nothing ! isn't that betrayal of the highest kind ?
mamath Sunday, 11 November 2012 02:35 PM
Erect it in a good place..not earmarked for a Hotel Project
manpei Monday, 12 November 2012 02:20 AM
Mahatma Gandhi, Yes he was a great man but then so was Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and Che Guera.. Should we eerect statues for them too. I personaly don't believe in errecting statues for any one. Waste of money, honour and respect people when they are alive instead.
nathen Monday, 12 November 2012 02:22 AM
Thats good he is realizing the past what he did to come to power, all know that who did that
AllSrilankans Monday, 12 November 2012 04:22 AM
Kollupitiya fish market has some space in the middle of the car park. How about the location?
Paddy Suman Monday, 12 November 2012 05:01 AM
I have nothing against LK. He is a great man, but If we keep erecting statues of every dead politician, some day SL will become another Easter Island.
Nihal Amarasekera Monday, 12 November 2012 05:21 AM
Exceptional human being I respect the most; statues of the great man should be established in the hearts of all true Sri Lankans.
Nina H. Kamal Monday, 12 November 2012 05:38 AM
Lets have all these fallen hereos moved to GF or to Battaramulla and surround with a good hotel!!! We have by now far too many of this! LK was a true Lankan... far from many
Upul Monday, 12 November 2012 06:28 AM
Does the President have to instruct all his Ministers, before anything of importance can take place? They are being treated like a bunch of Schoolchildren.
Fahd Monday, 12 November 2012 10:11 AM
Good ones always kicked off
Kondebandapuchhena Sunday, 11 November 2012 11:12 AM

kautilya Sunday, 11 November 2012 08:28 AM
Why suddenly 180 degree turn from the earlier stand?
Asanka Sunday, 11 November 2012 09:22 AM
This is sad, neither FM want his statue erected GL or bogalagama.. This issue was there from the time Hon. Laxman Kadrigamar was killed. Ego..
Yehiya Sunday, 11 November 2012 09:42 AM
His statue must be @ parliament.
saradiyal Sunday, 11 November 2012 09:45 AM

Fazli Sunday, 11 November 2012 07:42 AM

xlntgson Sunday, 11 November 2012 12:12 PM
When people have no respect for dead leaders, why clutter city junctions with life size images?
Imran Hussein Sunday, 11 November 2012 12:38 PM
Thats their Strategies.
Hoodwinking is the only trick in ther book.
Late mr Kadirgamar must be so pleased now.
Lobo Sunday, 11 November 2012 12:41 PM
Since Kadirgamar no other Foreign Minister had been able to command world respect the way he did and the subsequent FMs will not give him that honour and the recognition he deserves.
Imran Hussein Sunday, 11 November 2012 01:41 PM
Thats the only trick that regime has in its book.
late Mr. Kadirgamar must be so happy now with this.
Cannot expect quality from a kottu rotti regime.
mamath Sunday, 11 November 2012 02:33 PM
I have not seen a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Colombo. Is he reserved for Tamil/Estate Indian Origin? Or is there not a political gain by erecting his statue in Colombo?
