The Inter University Student's Federation (IUSF) Convener Sanjeewa Bandara was arrested last night by the Thihagoda police over a complaint of attacking two Ruhunu University students, Southern Province DIG Kingsley Ekanayake said.
“Sanjeewa was arrested on a suspicion for possessing a firearm but now they are trying to connect him with an incident where two Ruhunu University students who were stabbed by the members of the rival group,” Ekanayaka said.
Meanwhile the Students of the University of Ruhuna held a protest against the arrest of the IUSF convener, Ekanayaka said. (Supun Dias and Sumaiya Rizvi)

There is a code of conduct to follow when arresting someone by the police. They always arrest in a kidnap fashion. Our police arrest not the suspects but the culprits. No idea where the country is heading.
