Illangakoon acting IGP

Senior DIG N.K Illangakoon has been appointed as the acting IGP after Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya tendered his retirement papers to the President in the aftermath of the Katunayake Free Trade Zone (FTZ) clash. The acting IGP is senior DIG (Administration) N.K Illangakoon is widely believed, to be appointed as the 33rd IGP of the Police Department on June 18th. (Supun Dias)
