Gun totting soldier at MS meeting arrested

The soldier who had allegedly had a weapon to the President’s meeting last month had been remanded till May 12, the Police said.

The soldier, Corporal Senaka Kumara, attached to the Commando Unit was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department officers (CID) last night and produced before the Agunukola Palassa Magistrate.

A special investigation was launched by the CID into an incident where the soldier said to be a security officer of MP Namal Rajapaksa was caught bearing a gun in the vicinity of President Maithripala Sirisena at the SLFP Hambantota District meeting held in Angunukolapelassa on April 25.(DS)

since hearing this story I am extremely worried. We have done a revolution on 8th Jan to bring this president to power. It is impossible to believe that president is continuing with the same set of former PSD Personal for his security. He must completely revamp his PSD team and bring professionals with no bias towards Rajapaksa family to guard him. Please get Field Marshal Fonseka to scrutinize the new team before their appointed.
