The government today called off the rescue and search operations at the Koslanda landslide site. A decision was taken to hold a memorial for the dead and missing people. The landslide area will also be marked as a sanctuary, Government Information Department said.
During today's search for bodies of the Meeriyabedda, Koslanda landslide, the army had found two bodies -- one of an eight year old girl and the other of a 40 year old woman -- and also a part of the head of a woman.
So far 13 bodies and a hand, a leg and a head have been found in the search operation carried out by the army.
Eleven of the thirteen bodies found at the scene have now been identified, while three more bodies and two body parts are yet to be identified, the Koslanda police said.

there were 112 line rooms and 07 quarters in total. If we calculate on average 04 persons per family there should have been about 480 persons. Now the official figures is aboutt 42 dead or missing. If we reduce this from the 480 there shoud be around 438 alive in the camps from the affected areas, but the ones who are in the camps are far less in nos. Then where the others. Not dead but not alive also.
