I once saw in the paper replying to a question from a journalist
when the war was on,"What are your plans after retirement" the reply was quite simple and trustworthy,"I have my house at Piliyandala that I had not resided for years, I am going to reside in that,before that I had to do some work, involving (makuludel kadala).
He had no intention whatsoever,to do politics at that time.Society,politicians,hatred,anger,repentence made this Gentleman to take the deceision to make the country a place without any prejudice to anybody as happened to him.
Let him be as free as any other who has done his utmost for the sake of the country even after facing attack from a suicide bomer.
General should not be the bait for politicians of all calibre.Let him have his freedom to live with his family as others deserve.

I think Fonseka is safer behind bars. Out of prison and free, he might meet the same fate as journalists and human rights activists, and disappear forever in a white van.
