Pandemonium reigned in Parliament today after JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake started making references to various incidents of mass scale corruption and allegations against certain MPs.
Deputy Chairman of Committees, Murugesu Chandrakumar who was presiding at the time being unable to maintain order in the House suspended sittings for five minutes.
In his speech, Mr. Dissanayake referred to a government MP about his recent involvement in a brawl and amassing wealth including a few aircraft within a short span of time. This sparked angry reaction from the ruling party members who started shouting at the JVP leader.
"The SLFP is a party with a history. It produced some exemplary politicians. It consisted of leaders with honor and dignity. But it has been hijacked by some outsiders. Today, it is the duty of senior SLFPers to protect the party from these hijackers," he said amid the shouting by members.
Mr. Chandrakumar repeatedly asked those who were shouting to remain silent but it were in vain. Later, he suspended sittings for five minutes. (Kelum Bandara and Yohan Perera)

It is evident that either Mr Dissanayake of the JVP is psychologically and/or intellectually challenged or recognising his incapacity in hi-political life is exercising his right to freedom of speech under the constitution, however in only having the ability to excite his lower brain and the base anal instincts of fight or flee,he has walked himself in to transgressing the law of the land.He can now be arrested for behaviour likely to cause the breach of peace for a start. This is the fundamental problem of may be well meaning as a whole, but, unmodified and illeducated individuals who have little or no knowledge of international politics, bribery, corruption and coercion at the highest level by Western Powers against developing nations. What ever the short comings of the Rajapaksa regime, those who are well versed with the pressures under which he has defeated the LTTE and bow find himself having to walk a tight rope to keep the criminal western dogs away from sending the country(SL) in to the mire. The sooner you recognize that the SL Tamils were merely used as cannon fodder by foreign nations, USA in particular and the LTTE was cajoled in to the belief that they can devide the sovereign state of SL to 2sovereign states ; the USA kept the encouraged and facilitated the human rights violations and murder to continue. The LTT and the SL Tamils were sucked in to murdering their own and now the UNHCR are coercing Tamils to sign blank forms of complaints of human rights violations against the SL government, which they with the TNA are filling in the substantive to correlate with already decided conclusions.President Rajapaksa being privy to all the international corrupt machinations and convolutions, is clearly seeking this extra time to consolidate the hard earned and won gains for.the country. Yes he and members of his regime stand to benefit also, but by heck will you not pay handsomely for the peace and security alone that prevails in that country never mind all the other benefits.that flow thereby!
Ram Tuesday, 04 November 2014 01:49 AM
