Two men killed by train while walking on tracks

Two men have been hit by a train and killed and another injured while they were walking along the railway tracks at Thalpitiya, Wadduwa last night, police said.

They said that victims were killed at around 8.20 pm yesterday and the train had been travelling from Fort to Kalutara at the time of the accident.
The victims were identified as Kasun De Silva (41) and Ajith Rohana (55), from Panadura and Ambalangoda respectively. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

The hazard of walking on rail tracks has a steep learning curve in Sri Lanka......nearly a weekly occurence

Rail tracks are for trains to run. Not for walking, Wait for the day start walking on the Hi way.Why not start cleaning up all the structures constructed on the reservations of rail tracks and train stations.Just take Ragama station, The area belonging to rail staion can be cleared off and converted to a massive car park,where people could park and ride the train.Where are our planners if we have ANY,.
