Three persons who have organized a party at a hotel in Mirissa through Facebook have been arrested along with 57,250 ml of foreign liquor during a raid yesterday.
It is reported that the value of the foreign liquor seized was in the range of Rs. 500,000.
The arrested suspects were residents of Matara and it was learnt about 100 youth between the ages of 20-25 from Colombo area took part at the party.
The party was organized without obtaining excise licence and no such license was obtained for this hotel premises.
The raid was carried out by the Southern Province Excise Special Operations Bureau on a tip off received through 1913 Emergency response unit.

What is the problem. Is it because organised through FB or having foreign liquor or else. I am confused?

My problem is as to how this foreign liquor gets into Sri Lanka with all these import restrictions on non essential goods.
