Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene named 18 members for the Committee on High Posts in Parliament today.
They included: Chamal Rajapaksa, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dinesh Gunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Douglas Devananda, Bandula Gunawardene, Keheliya Rambukwella, Udaya Gammanpila, Ramesh Pathirana, Sudhashni Fernandopulle, Vidura Wickramanayake, John Seneviratne, Anura Priyadharashna Yapa, Vijitha Herath, Rishad Bathiudeen, Talatha Athukorala and Sarath Fonseka.
The main task of the Committee is to look into whether persons named by the President to important posts such as heads of Sri Lankan diplomatic missions, secretaries of ministries and heads of Corporations are eligible to hold such posts. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
