Sajith loyalists will struggle for a complete reform within the UNP initially while forming another party would be the second option, an MP who lobbied for Mr. Premadasa’s candidacy said yesterday.
Former Minister and Member of Parliament Kabir Hashim told journalists at the Vauxhall Street campaign office of Mr. Premadasa that they will initially fight for reforms within the UNP.
“We will initially try to lobby for a complete reform in the UNP rather than rushing through to form another party,” MP Hashim said.
MP Chathura Senaratne said all allies of the UNF will meet shortly to decide on the next course of action and on reforms. “We can resolve the issues through dialogue,” he said.
Large crowds gathered at the campaign headquarters to meet Mr. Premadasa. Emotional scenes were witnessed as some embraced him asking him not to leave them. “Remain in politics and fight on and we will support you,” a few were heard saying.
“Thousands of people expressed solidarity with Mr. Premadasa,” MP Harsha De Silva tweeted. (Yohan Perera)

First reform MUST be to get rid of RW as leader of the party with his school mates and friends ...

My personal opinion is whoever lost from their electorates should resign from their posts in the party as well from their electorates and appoint new. Without pointing finger at others turn the finger at your self see what went wrong in your electorates. Surely you are unpopular in your electorates.
