SI shot dead: One suspect arrested

Police said they arrested a resident of Moratuwa today in connection with the shooting incident where a Sub Inspector was killed and two constables were injured at Maspotha in Kurunegala last night.

They said the shooting had taken place when the SI and the two PCs were conducting a search operation in the area. Police are on the trail of the other suspect who had fled the crime scene.
