‘Podi Lassi’s mother arrested in Kottawa

The mother of organized criminal Janith Madusanka de Silva alias 'Podi Lassi' has been arrested for handling money earned from drug trafficking.
The 50-year-old woman, a resident of Thelwatta was arrested while hiding in the Pannipitiya area in Kottawa by the officers of the Peliyagoda Western Province North Crime Division.
Police have seized Rs. 51,000 in cash, five mobile phones and a bank account pass book from the arrested suspect.
The suspect is to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court today (25).
