Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has told UNPers not to respond to the statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.

Informed sources said the Premier had said this when he met party members including seniors at the UNP working committee meeting held at Sirikotha this morning and was responding to a suggestion made by young MPs that the party should respond to the President immediately.

“The ministers and MPs should not respond to the President but should resolve the problems faced by the people,” the Prime Minister had said. (Yohan Perera)

I can't understand this as he has been attacked relentlessly by the president and we don't hear anything against him from him. Is there any strategy behind this move?

Absolutely correct, it is a waste of time to talk about the same thing over and over again, instead doing something meaningful to resolve burning issues of masses.

Ranil has been a seasoned politician who does not lke to dignify people like Srisena becase now President Srisena has been so desperate . He who himself has made this situation since he does not have leadership quality . This responsible post is not a joke as he thinks to talk anything and everything in every nook and corner .

Sirisena is suffering from Dimensia and an impeachment motion must be brought and he must be removed,,,he publicly said in 2016 that he authorised the Helicopters for Mahinda to depart,,,he publicly said before the election of 8 Jan 2015 that once elected he will take responsibility to implement the 100 day programme,,now he is denying responsibility for these two acts,,,do we need such a double tounged irresponsible President...in 2015 after winning election he publcly said he will go hime after the first term,,,now he says he going going to stand for election for a secong term,,,such a conning President is not good for Sri Lanka,,high time to bring an impeachment and remove him,, anyway people are gonna reject him at the next election,,
