Number of COVID-19 deaths dropped by a half, says Epidemiology Chief

The analysis cairred out the COVID-19 deaths has shown that the number of deaths due to the virus has reduced by a half, Chief Epidemiologist Dr Sudath Samaraweera said.

He told media that the number of deaths due to COVID-19 had been around 10 daily in the past, but now it is less than five.

Meanwhile, Dr Samaraweera said the number of people who get hospitalized voluntarily due to symptoms had also come down significantly.
