UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa was arrested a short while ago by the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) in connection with financial misappropriation during the previous Government.

He was summoned by the FCID this morning to record a statement over an incident of financial misappropriation amounting to Rs. 70 million.

The Police said he would be produced in court today.

For sure President or Prime Minister was Un-aware of the arrest. What financial crime ? Just baseless allegations.
