S. Thomas' College (STC) in Mount Lavinia will not be affected by the Colombo Marine Drive extension project, Highways and Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella said yesterday.
He said this in response to a question asked by MP S.M. Marikar in the House last morning.
“We will use new technology and save S. Thomas' grounds when constructing the marine drive,” the minister said.
The minister said the decision whether to extend the marine drive from Dehiwala to Panadura would be taken after a feasibility study by two consultation companies which had been chosen for this purpose. (Yohan Perera)

Dear Minister, Please extend the Duplication road(R.A. De Mel Mawatha) to Aththidiya. This is also long overdue.

This is a very good idea. At the end of Duplication road(present) at Dharmarama road, there is a huge bottleneck. If we have it extended it could really smooth the traffic flow. Imagine one way traffic all the way to Maliban on Galle road and duplication road
NEW TECHNOLOGY ! ! Saturday, 23 September 2017 05:02 PM
" We will use new technology " pray - what is this NEW TECHNOLOGY ? Road construction with - under passes - over passes , - tunnels are standard practice in this field, WE await anxiously to know what this "NEW TECHNOLOGY " is. PS - No new technology for the Colombo Club ?

Mr. Minister, please travel from Colombo to Pandura (even during off paek time) then at least you will realize what a crying need this extension is.

Why we worry about a school ground when it comes to National interest. Give them another place. We need to think about future of the country, not one school.
