bo Monday, 03 December 2018 04:00 PM
It is a subordinate interim order pending supreme court decision on the 7th. The bench has given a political judgment evading any inference that they have pre-empted the pending supreme court decision. The interim order restrains and not bans.Anything could happen after the 7th, so don't take this as read, or final.
channa Monday, 03 December 2018 04:01 PM

A salute indeed for the Judiciary indeed, so proud that legal system can take whatever correct decision based on their own expertise this way, Now to Respected CJ and panel appointed for 4/5/6 Dec ...for once as Sri Lankans we saw the true, unbiased legal view point from a 3 judge panel. Every person irrespective of their political affiliations salute the legal system for giving a stay order for time being against an undemocratic decision taken. I don't support any party but democracy and respect to constitution must be valued if not we end up a country through dictatorship and fear. I do hope the panel gives their honest and correct decision no matter its Yes or No without any fear for earlier era threats etc as this is what we all fellow Sri Lankans want and will salute you all and your profession indeed.

Some food for thought for MS before tonight's meeting with the UNF. I wish he draws some nourishment from today's interim order before he resorts to the already concocted stalemate strategy which Basil taught him last night.
